The DataMosaik1 report maps Danish cultural data sources and examines the state of data practices in the cultural sector. It focuses on metadata, interoperability, cultural heritage, data literacy and governance in the domain of music.

Design principles
Data does not need to move into a single central database to become useful. Shared rules, APIs and identifiers can allow actors to stay in control while exchanging data safely.

Data quality should be checked when metadata is created, not months later when royalties, documentation or preservation already depend on it.
Dashboards and analytics should expose assumptions, gaps and uncertainty rather than present fragmented data as complete truth.
